This 2-day (16-hour) interactive class trains technicians on the most efficient processes for computerized measuring. Technicians learn to operate Chief’s Computerized Measuring Technologies to identify structural misalignment and maximize both repair quality and profitability.
Key learning activities include:
Define computerized measuring and explore Chief’s measuring workstation.
Name the workstation system components and discuss the setup and preparation required to use this technology
Analyze computerized measuring procedures and discover the importance of following proper procedures.
Explain collision theory and the three-section principle and show how to apply this information to determine possible structural misalignment
Outline the basic principles of measuring and list the three measuring dimensions
Define the sequence of checking for structural damage and understand build tolerances
Utilizing computer software, you will analyze and complete web-based measuring assignments
Outline troubleshooting, care, and maintenance processes to improve productivity

Unitized Body Analysis & Repair Planning – 2 Days
This 2-day interactive class is designed to enhance the foundational knowledge of both entry-level and experienced structural repair technicians, helping them to better understand unibody vehicle damage analysis and repair planning. Participants will learn essential principles of collision theory, how to measure and analyze damage, plan repairs, and set up unibody vehicles. The goal is to maximize both the quality of repairs and profitability.
Key learning activities include:
Define and identify the forces involved during a collision
Explain the procedures involved in measuring and analyzing collision damage
Set up and measure a collision damaged vehicle on a Chief frame rack in preparation for realignment
Develop an accurate repair plan based upon the damage analysis findings using the Genesis Measuring Software
Set up for repairs using repair plan

Structural Damage Analysis – 3 Days
This comprehensive course features 24-hours of instruction on collision theory, structural damage analysis skills and an understanding of correction procedures. It is designed for the body shop estimator or insurance appraiser.
Note: This course is not designed to teach estimate writing, but is designed to give you a thorough understanding of damage analysis and the procedures necessary for correcting structural misalignment. We recommend one year estimating experience before attending.
The course is a prerequisite to the “Advanced Unitized Body Repair” technician’s class.
Key learning activities include:
Collision theory of unitized and body-on-frame vehicles.
Hands-on gauging, measuring, and analyzing collision damage
Computerized measuring and structural analysis
Hands-on structural repair of a damaged unitized body vehicle to show the state-of-the-art application of damage analysis and correction procedures
Writing detailed structural damage reports

The course focuses on manufacturer-specific welding standards, materials, and repair protocols used in high-end vehicle construction. Participants will learn advanced MIG/MAG, and spot welding techniques required for aluminum, high-strength steel, and mixed-material structures.

The curriculum emphasizes precision, cleanliness, and joint integrity to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
Hands-on training includes the use of OEM-approved equipment, weld sample preparation, and real-world repair simulations.
